Best Farm Deals is intended for legitimate listings of farm equipment, attachments, machinery and related rural-use products.
The following items are not permitted. This list is not exhaustive. Best Farm Deals may reject or remove any listing that is illegal, unsafe, misleading, inappropriate or outside the intended purpose of the marketplace.
1. Stolen or Unauthorized Property
You may not list:
- Stolen equipment or property
- Equipment you do not own or have permission to sell
- Property involved in an ownership dispute
- Equipment with altered, removed or falsified serial numbers
- Equipment subject to an undisclosed lien, lease or financing claim
- Government, rental or employer-owned property being sold without authorization
Sellers must be able to demonstrate lawful ownership or authority to sell when requested.
2. Firearms, Ammunition and Weapons
Best Farm Deals does not permit listings for:
- Firearms
- Handguns
- Rifles or shotguns
- Ammunition
- Firearm receivers, frames or essential components
- High-capacity or prohibited magazines
- Suppressors or silencers
- Replica or 3D-printed firearms
- Crossbows or other weapons
- Explosives or weapon-making materials
This marketplace is not designed to verify firearms licences, classifications or transfer requirements. Canadian firearms rules are regulated and may change, so all weapons-related listings are prohibited regardless of whether a seller believes the item can otherwise be lawfully transferred.
3. Explosives and Incendiary Products
You may not list:
- Dynamite
- Blasting caps
- Detonators
- Improvised explosive devices
- Fireworks
- Military explosives
- Incendiary devices
- Explosive precursors intended for unlawful use
- Instructions or components intended to make explosives
Ordinary equipment parts such as batteries, fuel tanks and hydraulic accumulators are permitted when they are included as legitimate components of farm equipment and are described accurately.
4. Illegal Drugs and Controlled Substances
You may not list:
- Illegal drugs
- Controlled substances
- Prescription drugs
- Drug precursors
- Cannabis products
- Drug-manufacturing equipment
- Products marketed for unlawful drug production or distribution
Controlled substances and certain precursor chemicals are subject to licensing and distribution restrictions in Canada. Best Farm Deals does not provide a marketplace for these products.
5. Unregistered or Prohibited Pesticides
You may not list:
- Unregistered pesticides
- Banned pesticides
- Pesticides with missing or altered labels
- Products transferred into unlabelled containers
- Expired or improperly stored pesticides
- Pest-control products not authorized for sale in Canada
- Chemicals marketed with unapproved pest-control claims
Only pesticide products registered by Health Canada may generally be sold or used in Canada, and authorized products carry a Pest Control Product registration number on the label.
Best Farm Deals may prohibit all standalone pesticide listings, including otherwise registered products, because shipping, storage and provincial sales requirements can vary.
6. Hazardous Chemicals and Materials
You may not list hazardous materials that cannot be safely or lawfully sold through a general marketplace, including:
- Toxic industrial chemicals
- Radioactive materials
- Asbestos
- Mercury in bulk form
- Unlabelled chemicals
- Laboratory chemicals of unknown composition
- Chemical-warfare agents
- Contaminated soil or waste
- Hazardous waste
- Regulated refrigerants sold without required authorization
- Products that leak or are stored in unsafe containers
Ordinary oils, lubricants and maintenance products may be listed only when they are sealed, properly labelled and lawful to sell.
7. Fuel and Pressurized Products
The following are prohibited as standalone listings:
- Gasoline
- Diesel fuel
- Propane
- Anhydrous ammonia
- Compressed gases
- Damaged or uncertified pressure cylinders
- Bulk fuel stored in unapproved containers
Fuel tanks, propane tanks or pressure vessels attached to equipment may be shown as part of the equipment, but sellers must disclose their condition and any certification requirements.
8. Unsafe, Recalled or Illegally Modified Equipment
You may not list equipment that:
- Is subject to a safety recall and has not been repaired
- Has intentionally disabled safety systems
- Has removed guards without clear disclosure
- Has falsified certification labels
- Has unlawfully modified emissions systems
- Cannot legally be operated or transported
- Poses an unreasonable risk of injury
- Has structural damage that is concealed from buyers
Equipment sold for parts or repair must be clearly identified as such, with known defects disclosed.
9. Counterfeit or Infringing Products
You may not list:
- Counterfeit equipment
- Fake branded parts
- Unauthorized copies of manufacturer products
- Products bearing false certification marks
- Stolen photographs, descriptions or manuals
- Items that infringe trademarks, copyrights or patents
Compatible aftermarket parts are permitted when they are accurately described and are not falsely presented as genuine manufacturer products.
10. Animals and Livestock
Best Farm Deals is primarily an equipment marketplace. Listings for live animals are not permitted unless Best Farm Deals later creates a dedicated livestock category with appropriate rules.
Prohibited listings include:
- Livestock
- Pets
- Wildlife
- Endangered species
- Animal remains
- Animals that are injured, sick or unfit for transport
- Animals offered without required identification or records
Animal movement, identification and humane transportation are regulated in Canada.
Livestock trailers, handling equipment, feeders and related machinery are permitted.
11. Food, Seed and Agricultural Inputs
Unless Best Farm Deals specifically approves these categories, you may not list:
- Food intended for human consumption
- Veterinary drugs
- Medicated feed
- Unregistered seed varieties
- Seed with false germination or certification claims
- Contaminated feed
- Fertilizers or supplements that cannot lawfully be sold
- Biological products requiring controlled storage
- Products subject to quarantine or movement restrictions
Farm equipment used to handle, plant, store or process these products is permitted.
12. Financial Products and Services
You may not list or promote:
- Loans offered by unlicensed individuals
- Investment opportunities
- Cryptocurrency schemes
- Payment-processing services
- Escrow services not approved by Best Farm Deals
- Insurance products
- Requests for deposits unrelated to a genuine equipment transaction
- Franchise or business-investment solicitations disguised as equipment listings
A seller may state that dealer financing is available, but financing terms must be lawful, accurate and provided by a legitimate financial or commercial provider.
13. Illegal Services
Listings may not offer:
- Theft or equipment stripping
- Serial-number alteration
- Emissions-system tampering
- Document forgery
- Fraudulent inspections
- Illegal waste disposal
- Unlicensed pesticide application
- Unlawful firearm or drug services
- Services intended to bypass safety or regulatory requirements
14. Digital and Non-Equipment Items
Unless specifically approved, Best Farm Deals does not permit:
- Software licences
- Digital downloads
- Account credentials
- Mailing lists
- Personal data
- Website accounts
- Social-media accounts
- Cryptocurrency
- Non-fungible tokens
- Unrelated event tickets
- General consumer goods unrelated to agriculture
Equipment manuals may be included with the related equipment, but should not normally be posted as standalone copyrighted downloads.
15. Adult, Hateful or Offensive Content
Listings may not contain:
- Pornographic or sexually explicit material
- Hate symbols or extremist merchandise
- Threats or harassment
- Discriminatory content
- Graphic violence
- Content promoting criminal organizations
- Obscene images or language
- Personal attacks against another user
16. Personal Information and Identity Documents
You may not list or publish:
- Government identification
- Driver’s licences
- Passports
- Social insurance numbers
- Banking details
- Credit-card information
- Passwords
- Login credentials
- Medical records
- Private customer lists
- Another person’s personal information without permission
Do not include a complete residential address or sensitive personal information in a public listing.
17. Fraudulent or Misleading Listings
Listings are prohibited when they:
- Advertise equipment that does not exist
- Copy another seller’s listing
- Use photographs of a different machine
- State a false location
- Misrepresent the seller’s identity
- Use a false or bait price
- Request payment to an unrelated person
- Direct users to fake payment or shipping websites
- Claim false certifications, warranties or ownership
- Exist mainly to collect personal information
- Promote advance-fee or overpayment scams
18. Unrelated Advertising and Spam
You may not post:
- Duplicate listings
- Keyword-stuffed listings
- Referral links
- Affiliate promotions
- General business advertisements without equipment for sale
- Links to unrelated marketplaces
- Repeated wanted ads in equipment-for-sale categories
- Promotional content intended primarily to redirect traffic elsewhere
Dealer listings may include reasonable business information, but each listing must represent genuine equipment or inventory.
19. Items Restricted by Law or Regulation
Any item that cannot legally be advertised, owned, transported, imported, exported or sold in the seller’s or buyer’s jurisdiction is prohibited.
Sellers are responsible for understanding applicable:
- Federal laws
- Provincial or territorial laws
- Municipal bylaws
- Licensing requirements
- Transportation rules
- Environmental requirements
- Import and export restrictions
Best Farm Deals may apply stricter rules than the law requires.
20. Review and Removal
Best Farm Deals may:
- Reject a listing before publication
- Request ownership or product documentation
- Remove a listing without prior notice
- Restrict or suspend an account
- Preserve relevant account and message records
- Report suspected illegal activity to authorities
- Cooperate with lawful investigations
Approval of a listing does not mean Best Farm Deals has verified that the item is lawful, safe, authentic or accurately described.
Reporting a Prohibited Item
Use the Report Listing option where available or contact:
Include:
- The listing link
- The seller’s display name
- The reason for the report
- Screenshots or supporting information, when available
For immediate threats, suspected theft or criminal activity, contact the appropriate police service directly.
